Philippians 1:6 “Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.” I'm sure we have read this verse many times. But what does that mean as we walk this out in our everyday life? God began a good work in you! And that means there is a process that he takes us through to conform us to the image of his son, Jesus Christ. The prophetic words spoken over our lives, the promises that he has given us, it's all part of the work that he's doing in us. I'm sure you're all familiar with our state tree, the orange construction barrel! LOL! When we see those cones and barrels, they are reminders there is a work going on. With you and I, God began to work when we surrendered our lives, and put our faith and trust into Jesus Christ. So, he started the work of healing us, setting us free, teaching us to walk by faith, and growing in our intimacy with him. Have you ever wondered why you may still be struggling with certain thoughts or mindset, even if you've walked with Jesus for many years? I believe it is all part of what he is working in you and through you. If he delivered us from everything all at once, would we really have compassion for those who struggle or maybe be locked into bondage? So, it brings me a lot of comfort knowing that God began a good work, and he's not going to leave it as an unfinished product! When you came to him, he started something beautiful! It may not always feel that way with you, and sometimes the journey feels a little painful. But, make no mistake, the potter of your life is making a beautiful work that brings him glory! Trust in him, rest in him, be obedient, and know that he is working everything together for your good! He will not give up on you! Don't give up on you either! You are loved! Much love, Pastor Jeff |
