A youth pastor in the Metro area expressed the concern that Christian youth tend to backslide during the summer. There are a lot of parties, free time, and so forth that can tempt a Christian teen to compromise their walk with the Lord. Please pray for believing teens to use their free time wisely; to press into the Lord, work, and engage in wholesome activities with their friends. Pray that they will be a powerful witness to unbelieving youth around them. “Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. But resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same experiences of suffering are being accomplished by your brethren who are in the world.” I Peter 5:8, 9
Pray for the churches in the Metro area as we go through the summer. Most families go on vacation, and church programs often go “on hold” during the summer, which can lead to a spiritual dulling. Pray that the Lord would continue to move in a mighty way during this time and refreshing his church during this time of rest and restoration.— “Find rest, O my soul, in God alone; my hope comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken.” Psalm 62:5 (NIV)
